Who We Are

  • Our Vision

To create an educational family which develops character driven, culturally literate, life-long learners who bring value to their community.

  • Our Mission

Our mission is to prepare learners of Pasco County, Pre-K through 12th grade, for high school, college, and for the work force by delivering a world class education through the arts in a collaborative environment fueled by a passion for learning.

Our History

In the year 2000, a group of active community members were seeking to create an educational program in Pasco County that encompasses high academic standards, infused with the arts, and enhanced with character education.

In February of 2000, the Pasco County School Board approved the charter of Dayspring Academy. This is where our story begins. Dayspring began with 130 learners from Kindergarten to 5th grade. We began our journey in rented space from Calvary Chapel Worship Center.

In 2001, we renovated and leased our first building that once was the Port Richey Veterans Medical building. This new building allowed us to add our middle school grades. While this was initially our only campus, the Middle School moved to a separate campus, while the original building houses just our expanded Elementary School.

In 2003, we needed more room. The Embassy Hills Civic Association donated their building and the contents to us to use for our Dayspring Middle School.

In 2010, we again rented room from a church to begin our 3 and 4 year old preschool program, Dayspring’s Little Scholars. In the summer of 2011, we purchased a home for our newest addition. Little Scholars and Dayspring Administration is now housed at 9732 Little Road in New Port Richey.

For years our parents requested the addition of a High School. For the 2014-2015 school year, we announced the addition of a High School. Currently, the High School is housed at the Middle School campus, now known as the Secondary School campus.

Every year out commitment to our families and learners is to create and educational family which develops character driven, culturally literate, life-long learners who bring value to their community. Our mission is to prepare learners of Pasco County, Pre-K through 12th grade, for high school, college, and for the work force by deliever a world class education through the arts in a collaborative environment fueled by a passion for learning.

Every year, since inception, Dayspring Academy has delivered on that commitment and has been deemed a high performing charter school by the state of Florida. We now serve over 700 learners with the same high standards set before us in the year 2000.

Thank you for taking your time to learn a little bit about our story. Please let us know if ever in the future we can serve you and your learner as you continue on your familiy’s educational journey.
